Hermione Ylaya, a student from Lala National High School in Lanao del Norte, was declared as the champion in the Regional Consumer Quiz 2024 on October 22, 2024 at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10, the regional consumer quiz aims to educate and empower the youth on consumer rights and responsibilities.
This year’s participants are the top three winners in the provincial consumer quizzes conducted in Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental.
Ylaya took home a cash prize of P11,000 and trophy.
Additionally, she was also rewarded with a bar refrigerator from Cagayan de Oro City Councilor George Goking.
Lavelia Jane Gementiza from Kiburiao National High School in Bukidnon was the second placer. She took home P9,000 cash prize and trophy.
Meanwhile, the third place was secured by Neeka Ella Guillero from Gusa Regional Science High School in Cagayan de Oro City.
Guillero was awarded with P7,000 cash prize and trophy.
The DTI-10 Regional Consumer Quiz 2024 is one of the major events organized in celebration of Consumer Welfare Month 2024.
This year’s theme is “Be Smart! Assert Your Consumer Rights!”
