In an exciting lead-up to this year’s Geeks On A Beach (GOAB) conference, which will be held
in Cebu on November 13, exclusive master classes will be featured tailored for leaders and
startups looking to elevate their skills.
“GOAB masterclasses offer in-depth insights and practical takeaways, empowering participants
to excel and thrive in their fields. We encourage budding entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts to
join,” said Tina Amper, GOAB lead organizer.
Each master class offers a comprehensive two-hour workshop on tech, startups, design, and
business topics led by international industry experts.
“Participants can dive deep into key topics, engage with experts, and network with peers, with
plenty of opportunities for Q&A and meaningful discussions,” said Amper.
Getting media attention to boost your startup
The first masterclass is “How to get media attention that can boost your startup’s credibility for
fundraising, sales, and hiring.”
This session, led by Mohan Belani, CEO and Co-Founder of e27, offers a crash course in media
outreach specifically for startups. Participants will gain insights into how journalists think and
learn to craft compelling press releases.
“The goal is to leverage media attention to enhance a startup’s credibility, making it easier to
raise funds, increase sales, and attract top talent,” said Belani.
This masterclass is ideal for founders, marketers, or anyone aiming to boost their startup’s
visibility for fundraising, sales, or hiring.
Mastering leadership in startup contexts
The second masterclass is titled “Leadership need not be lonely: Let’s decode and thrive
Together.”
Hosted by Ksther Lim, CEO of The People Decoder, this masterclass addresses the challenges
of leadership and the feeling of isolation that often accompanies it. Through reflective activities
and live problem-solving exercises, participants will explore strategies to foster deeper
connections, build confidence, and achieve better results as leaders.
“The session aims to equip leaders with the tools needed to navigate leadership with clarity and
thrive in their roles,” said Lim.
This session is designed for senior leaders, executives, or anyone looking to strengthen their
leadership skills, develop meaningful connections, and overcome team challenges.
Call for participation
GOAB will feature a total of six pre-conference masterclasses.
“Whether you’re a startup founder, senior leader, or part of a growing team, these masterclasses
are filled with insights to help you level up before the GOAB conference,” said Amper.
“Don’t miss the chance to learn from the best and connect with like-minded professionals,” she concluded.
