PhilHealth ID Cards Distributed to Inmates at Valencia City Jail

VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon – PhilHealth has delivered and distributed Identification Cards (ID) to inmates at the Valencia City Jail in Bukidnon, enabling their families to also avail of benefits during their incarceration.

During the visit of PhilHealth personnel, more than 150 inmates at Valencia City Jail expressed their gratitude for the personal delivery of their PhilHealth ID cards and membership records.

Assistant Jail Warden Amador Galario explained that the program was initiated through the efforts of the city jail management to assist those in need, especially in times of illness.

According to the latest records, there are a total of 369 inmates who require ID cards, but as of now, only 154 have been provided with the cards as others are still in the process of completing the necessary requirements.

PhilHealth-Bukidnon Chief Romulo Lapuz, Jr. clarified that “Qualified Dependents” can also benefit from the program, including the families of the inmates.

Maria Rhodella Monsanto, PhilHealth-10 Field Operations Division Chief, assured that they will provide free consultations to assist the inmates.

Meanwhile, an inmate known as ‘Alyas Gogong’ expressed gratitude for this opportunity. ‘Alyas Diane’ at the Valencia City Jail Female Dormitory also extended thanks to PhilHealth for their action and assistance, alongside the City Jail Management’s support and efforts in addressing health-related issues among the inmates.
